Analyzes quasi-fission in actinide fusion experiments, suggesting parameter roles in superheavy nuclei formation.
We analyzed the quasi-fission process in 9 fusion experiments in the region of actinides and superheavy nuclei. It has been observed that when the value of Ecm/VB>1 (the beam energy is more than the fusion barrier), the quasi-fission transitions change from asymmetric to symmetric. Further investigations show a more systematic variation of AL/AC with χmandZCoul for the quasi-fission process leading to the formation of superheavy nuclei when compared to other entrance channel parameters investigated. Furthermore, for mass asymmetry, the effect of a number of magic nuclei present in projectile and target nuclei displays consistent variation. ηA was the most important factor in the examined fusion processes with varying Nm. As a result, the entrance channel parameter, such as the mass asymmetry, plays a significant role in the quasi-fission process in addition to the magic number of projectile-target combinations.
