Interdisciplinary study explores family conflict sources in Indian communities, indicating traditional influences on decisions.
This work presents an interdisciplinary study of family conflict through the combined perspectives of sociology, psychology, cultural anthropology, and Indian Knowledge Systems. The manuscript explores the historical, cultural, and symbolic roles of astrology and numerology in family life while situating these traditions within broader social and behavioural contexts. The study examines major sources of family conflict, including economic pressures, intergenerational differences, marriage, inheritance, property disputes, communication patterns, migration, and changing social structures. It investigates how traditional astrological and numerological consultations have historically influenced family decision-making and conflict resolution practices in many Indian communities. The book adopts a balanced academic approach, treating astrological and numerological traditions as cultural and interpretive systems rather than empirically established determinants of family outcomes. Drawing upon classical Indian literature, family sociology, psychology, conflict resolution studies, and contemporary interdisciplinary scholarship, it develops an integrated conceptual framework for understanding family relationships and conflict.
