Evaluates oil displacement efficiency in fluorinated polymers, suggesting improved performance over conventional agents.
To enhance the temperature, salt and shear resistance of conventional polyacrylamide oil-displacing agents, a fluorinated hydrophobically associating polymer AM-AA-HDFDMA was synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization. Acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AM) were utilized as comonomers, with perfluorooctylethyl methacrylate (HDFDMA) serving as the fluorinated hydrophobic functional monomer. The synthesis employed an ammonium persulfate-sodium bisulfite (APS-NaHSO3) redox initiation system. The selected synthesis conditions were established as a total monomer mass fraction of 25%, an initiator dosage of 0.3 wt% of the total monomers, a reaction temperature of 40 °C, and a reaction time of 4.5 h. The chemical structure and micromorphology of the polymer were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, its thickening performance, shear resistance, temperature resistance, salt tolerance, and oil displacement efficiency were systematically evaluated.
