Conceptual framework explores organizational transformation for effective data science in banking, implying broader impacts on business value.
This conceptual preprint argues that the large-scale adoption of data science in banking should be understood not merely as a technological undertaking but as a multidimensional organisational transformation process. Existing discussions often emphasise model performance and algorithmic sophistication while underestimating the influence of governance structures, organisational culture, regulatory requirements, data infrastructure and cross-functional collaboration. Consequently, institutions possessing advanced analytical capabilities may still struggle to realise sustained business value from their investments.
