Investigates synchronous tumors at the esophagogastric junction, indicating complex treatment strategies.
A 56-year-old man underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for a suspected early neoplasm at the esophagogastric junction. Endoscopy revealed a lesion extending from the distal esophagus (38 cm from the incisors) to the cardia, measuring approximately 3.0 × 1.0 cm and classified as a 0-IIa+IIc lesion(1a,1c). On narrow-band imaging, the esophageal component showed a well-demarcated brownish area, and magnifying endoscopy demonstrated predominantly type B1 intrapapillary capillary loops without a clear avascular area(1b).
