Remote ECG monitoring and wearable devices significantly improve arrhythmia detection, facilitate early treatment, and contribute to better cardiovascular outcomes and quality of life.
Do remote ECG monitoring and wearable devices improve early detection of arrhythmias and reduce clinical complications such as stroke?
Remote ECG monitoring and wearable devices are effective for the early detection of arrhythmias, which can facilitate timely intervention and potentially reduce serious complications like stroke.
Cardiac arrhythmias are among the most common cardiovascular disorders andare associated with serious complications such as stroke, heart failure, thromboembolism, and suddencardiac death. Early detection of arrhythmias is essential for timely intervention and prevention ofadverse clinical outcomes. Recent advances in digital health technologies have enabled thedevelopment of remote electrocardiographic monitoring systems and wearable devices, includingsmartwatches, capable of continuous heart rhythm assessment. This article evaluates the effectivenessof remote ECG monitoring and wearable technologies in the early detection of arrhythmias and theirrole in reducing clinical complications, particularly stroke. The study analyzes current evidenceregarding diagnostic accuracy, clinical benefits, patient outcomes, and future perspectives of thesetechnologies. The findings suggest that wearable devices significantly improve arrhythmia detection, facilitate early treatment, and contribute to better cardiovascular outcomes and quality of life
