Magnetometer survey identifies archaeological features in Warwickshire, indicating potential significance.
The detailed magnetic survey was carried out using a SENSYS MAGNETO MX V3 6 channel cart-based system. The instrument has 6 fluxgate gradiometers (FGM650) spaced 0.5m apart with readings recorded at 100Hz and towed using an ATV. The results indicate the presence of a small group of positive responses towards the western edge of the site which could relate to cut features with some archaeological potential. Other weakly positive anomalies have been located, but they lack clarity and cannot be confidently interpreted. Magnetic enhancement in the southern part of the site appears to have been truncated by ridge and furrow and could be associated with anthropogenic activity.
