Survey measures interior dimensions of Koushouken tea house, comparing results with Honka drawings.
This study conducted a survey of the tea ceremony house “Koushouken” using 3DLS, and created 2DCAD drawings from the measurements. This digital data with detailed dimensions is an important resource for recording, preserving, and passing on the interior space of the tea ceremony house. Furthermore, the 2DCAD drawings were compared with the original drawings of Tenryu-ji’s Shinjoin tea ceremony house as “Honka” to determine if there were any differences between the two. As a result, although there were some differences in the dimensions of the double sliding doors, the tea ceremony room “Koushouken” could be evaluated as a “Utsushi”.
