New Age Taffeta is a 120-page novel that centers around everyday people in the Zamundan town of Kujama: Ahmed and Lotanna, a couple facing poverty and marital strife, and their ill infant daughter, Baby, who for some reason, still has no name. Their lives are interlinked with Ogbuefi, Ahmed's student and an orphan searching for home. Then, there is the sinister church - personified in an unsettling priest and his eerie obsession with Lotanna - that stretches forth its hands not only into Zamundan politics, but Ahmed and Lotanna's home.
