Model demonstrates effective e-moderation for teacher training in rural populations, suggesting improved access to education.
Recently NCTE has given permission to Open Universities to offer B.Ed. to teachers already in service through the distance mode. Most of the teacher – students of the Tamil Nadu Open University are scattered over rural areas. E-Moderation is an application of a technique of ICT to supplement regular classroom teaching. This method of training removes the barriers of space, time, ae and other geographical constraints, making for a true open learning system. This article presents a model for adoption of e-moderation. It describes various aspects of e-moderation. The education & training component involves 5 steps, viz, access and motivation, online socialization, information exchange, knowledge construction and development. The implementation of this model will augment the training of rural teachers in an effective way.
