Analytical study examines critical skills in Do-or-Die raids and Super Tackles, highlighting strategic implications.
Kabaddi has evolved into a highly strategic and data-driven sport with the emergence of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Among various match situations, Do-or-Die raids and Super Tackles are considered the most critical and game-changing moments. The present study aims to analyze the technical and tactical skills used during these high-pressure situations in PKL Season 9. The research adopts a notational analysis method using recorded match data. Key raiding skills such as toe touch, hand touch, bonus, and dubki, along with defensive techniques like ankle hold, thigh hold, dash, and chain tackle, were examined. The findings reveal that raiders prefer safe scoring techniques during Do-or-Die raids, while defenders rely heavily on coordinated team efforts during Super Tackles. The study highlights the importance of decision-making, situational awareness, and skill execution under pressure. These insights can help coaches and players improve performance strategies in competitive kabaddi.
