Investigates flow dynamics in a fractional Maxwell fluid, indicating implications for heat transfer efficiency.
The unsteady oblique stagnation‐point flow of a fractional Maxwell fluid over an oscillating–stretching cylinder is investigated. A mathematical model is formulated based on the constitutive relation of the fractional Maxwell fluid and the fractional Cattaneo–Christov double diffusion model, with the relaxation time effects of heat and mass transfer, magnetic field modulation and thermal radiation impacts incorporated. The governing equations are solved via the finite difference‐spectral method, and detailed distributions of the velocity, temperature and concentration fields are obtained. Numerical results demonstrate that the fluid temperature is elevated with an increase in the thermal radiation parameter, the concentration is reduced by a larger relaxation time parameter, and the fluid velocity is attenuated while the heat and mass transfer rates are retarded with a higher fractional derivative order, which underscores the intrinsic memory effect inherent in the fractional order model.
