Open-source library allows Python code execution in browsers, indicating new educational and prototyping possibilities.
Pytml is an open-source JavaScript library that allows developers to embed and execute Python code directly inside HTML web pages. It uses Pyodide—a port of CPython to WebAssembly—to run Python entirely in the browser without requiring a backend server. Key features include zero-boilerplate syntax using `<py>` tags, automatic Pyodide initialization, Python I/O redirection (print() and input() work in the browser), no server required, and a lightweight wrapper under 15 KB. This paper describes Pytml's architecture, implementation, use cases in education and prototyping, limitations, and future development plans.
