Explores automated EnergyPlus model generation for enhancing energy efficiency and resilience.
genEPJ is an open-source Python library for automating EnergyPlus model generation and modification through IDF, epJSON, eppy, OpenStudio, and Modelkit pathways. With >100 preconfigured functions, it supports the structured creation of reference, proposed, and optimized models for parametric, optimization, and resilience-oriented studies, including outage-event simulations. The library reduces repetitive manual editing and improves workflow consistency across scenarios. It also supports multi-objective analyses involving energy, cost, emissions, and resilience indicators. Current areas for further development include a more user-friendly front end and streamlined integration with external EnergyPlus-related tools.
