This poster investigates the impact of layer arrangement on environmental stress cracking in recycled HIPS, suggesting important implications for material design.
This poster investigates the environmental stress cracking resistance of virgin/recycled HIPS layer arrangements exposed to oil. FTIR and tensile testing were used for material characterization, while creep-rupture testing under constant stress was applied to evaluate long-term ESCR performance. The results show that layer arrangement strongly influences failure lifetime, highlighting the importance of identifying a sufficient virgin surface-layer thickness for recycled HIPS structures.
