Demonstrates how neuroscience principles enhance meeting dynamics, suggesting actionable insights for professionals.
Why do some meetings leave participants energised while others drain them? Why does a well-timed pause transform a stalled discussion? This paper applies the extended Kuramoto model of heterogeneous oscillators to the dynamics of business meetings, treating participants as coupled oscillators with distinct attentional rhythms. We identify two situational profiles, fast and deep, and model the coordinator as a dual-mode oscillator that alternates between entrainment and facilitation. Through a narrative of a single meeting, we show how coherence emerges, decays, and can be restored through constructive perturbations. A practical diagnostic checklist translates the formal model into immediately actionable tools for professionals.
