Abstract

Seventeen 30m long trenches were excavated across the 2.2ha site. A single scorched pit, possibly the remains of a hearth of likely medieval date, was found in Trench 2, located in the north of the site, close to Stocks Lane. This may hint that Stocks Lane has medieval or earlier origins.
