Report on the development and validation of a digital platform to enhance waste management in construction, suggesting improvements to data management.
This report presents the design, development, implementation, and validation of the Digital Information Management System (DIMS) Platform developed within the RECONMATIC project. The platform was created to address persistent challenges in Construction and Demolition Waste Management (CDWM), particularly fragmented information, limited data transparency, weak interoperability between digital tools, and insufficient integration across the construction lifecycle. Building on previous research by Dr. Ali Saad, DIMS is positioned as a digital decision-support platform that supports Circular Economy (CE) practices through improved material flow data management, stakeholder collaboration, and lifecycle-based information exchange.
