This study investigates the impact of AI-based design activities on students’ AI literacy and their general attitudes toward AI. The research compares two groups of students engaged in different AI-supported design activities: one group worked on AI-based video design, while the other focused on AI-based graphic design. The study sought to determine whether significant differences existed in AI literacy and attitudes between the two groups, and how the type of design activity influenced these variables. The results showed no significant differences in the pre-test scores. However, post-test results revealed significant improvements in both groups’ AI literacy and attitudes, with the video design group showing a greater increase in their AI literacy compared to the graphic design group. These findings suggest that the type of AI-based design activity can influence students’ learning outcomes and attitudes toward AI, emphasizing the importance of task-based engagement with AI tools to foster positive attitudes and improve AI literacy. This study adds to the growing body of research on the role of AI in education, offering valuable insights into how AI tools can be integrated into educational settings to enhance students’ understanding of AI and foster creative development.
