Kuwanon H dose-dependently inhibits human platelet aggregation and thromboxane A2 generation, showing antiplatelet potential.
Why the study?
Platelet-driven clot formation contributes to cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and stroke, prompting the exploration of natural products like kuwanon H for prevention.
Does Kuwanon H inhibit platelet aggregation and activation in human platelets?

Jung-Hae Shin (2026) studied Healthy (blood donors for platelet suspension). Kuwanon H vs. Agonist-stimulated platelets (vehicle control) was evaluated on Platelet aggregation and clot retraction (p=<0.05). Kuwanon H dose-dependently inhibited collagen-induced human platelet aggregation, calcium mobilization, and thromboxane A2 generation, suggesting potential as an antiplatelet agent.
