Everyday Stories from a Ukrainian University Without Walls is a visual storytelling album created as part of an international educational collaboration between Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (Ukraine) and Future Campus (Australia). The album emerged from an online visual storytelling course led by Tim Winkler and Neil Bennett, which introduced participants to the principles of visual communication, storytelling, and photography using smartphones. Students, academics, and staff were invited to document fragments of their everyday lives through photographs accompanied by short reflective narratives. Created in the context of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine and the displacement of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University from its occupied home city, the project explores how visual narratives communicate belonging, identity, resilience, memory, and hope. Rather than focusing exclusively on war, the photographs capture ordinary moments that shape everyday life: study, family, landscapes, travel, creativity, pets, friendship, and personal aspirations. The publication demonstrates how visual storytelling can become a powerful tool for: documenting lived experience; strengthening communication skills; supporting student voice and participation; fostering international dialogue; communicating knowledge beyond traditional academic formats. The album also illustrates the concept of a "University Without Walls", where academic community, identity, and collaboration continue despite displacement through digital technologies and international partnerships. This resource may be valuable for researchers and practitioners working in higher education, visual methods, science communication, digital pedagogy, student engagement, and education in conflict-affected contexts.
