Assessment identifies capacity needs for HIV and AIDS workplace programmes in South Africa's public service, indicating urgent resource enhancement.
The main burden in dealing with the impact of the HIV and AIDS on the public service falls on the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA). In order for the public service to be successful, the impact of the pandemic on its own employees will have to be managed. There is a need for increased capacity to deal with the different aspects of the HIV and AIDS epidemic in the public service.
