Case presentation highlights 18F-FDG PET/CT findings for diagnosing multiple inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors, indicating effective imaging utility.
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor involving multiple parts of the body simultaneously is extremely rare. Here, we present FDG PET/CT findings of multiple inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors in a patient. 18 F-FDG PET/CT showed intense 18 F-FDG uptake in the liver and abdominal cavity. Finally, the diagnosis of multiple inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors was confirmed by pathologic examination.
