The paper analyzes federal statistical data presented in statistical digests of the Russian Ministry of Health for the period of 2022-2024, using statistical, comparative, and analytical research methods. The results showed that, according to 2024 data, there were only 12 (0.002%) osteopathic physicians and 196 (0.035%) manual therapists of the total number of doctors in the Russian Federation working in public healthcare organizations. Small numbers of these specialists are available in a few constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and their largest number is in large cities (Moscow, Saint Petersburg). Doctor density indicators are extremely low, practically zero. This fact indicates a low demand for these specialists in public healthcare organizations and reflects the specific structure of the modern healthcare system. At the same time, osteopathic physicians and manual therapists are widely represented in clinics of the private healthcare system. Human resources are the most important resource of the healthcare system which ensure the proper level of accessible and high-quality medical care. Overcoming the human resource shortage is one of the key challenges facing the state, which determines the planned human resource management for the medium and long term. In today's environment, the involvement of specialists skilled in manual techniques to restore the health (rehabilitation) of patients (the wounded, sick, and injured) will serve the goals of preserving the long and active life of the country's population.
