Theoretical framework structures relationships in complex self-regulating systems, indicating a new organizational approach.
The Interdisciplinary Phase Coherence Theory (IPCT) introduces an ontological and architectural framework for representing complex self-regulating systems across physical, biological, cognitive, environmental, and geophysical domains. This article establishes the foundational architecture of IPCT by defining a hierarchical system representation consisting of six organizational layers: Domain Object (O_D) → Latent Field (χ_D) → Geometry (G_D) → Network (N_D) → State (S_D) → Transition (T_D) The framework introduces the Layer Closure Principle, which restricts structural interactions to adjacent layers and provides a modular basis for organizing heterogeneous mathematical models across scientific domains. IPCT does not propose a replacement for existing theories; rather, it provides a higher-level architectural framework intended to organize structural relationships among nonlinear dynamics, network science, cybernetics, systems biology, and complex systems approaches. This article focuses exclusively on ontological and architectural formulation. Mathematical dynamics, stability analysis, transition formulations, and empirical validation are developed in subsequent articles within the IPCT Scientific Program.
