Cover Feature demonstrates improved OER performance in alkaline environments with varying alkali metal ions, suggesting implications for energy applications.
The Cover Feature shows how orthorhombic Co3V2O8 prepared by calcination at 850°C works as an electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline electrolytes containing different alkali metal cations. As the ionic radius of the cations increases, the size of their hydration shell decreases, thereby enhancing the OER performance. This reduction in the extent of hydration improves the interfacial charge transfer during OER. More information can be found in the Research Article by A. Padhy, P.
