Comment highlights diagnostic challenges of FNH lesions resembling malignancies in pediatric cancer survivors, suggesting careful evaluation.
To the Editor, Our recently published article on focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH)/FNH–like lesions mimicking relapsed malignancies in pediatric patients, emphasized careful consideration of new liver lesions arising in post-treatment surveillance1. In such cases, concerns for development of metastasis or recurrence may take precedence over consideration for FNH/FNH-like lesions leading to initial investigations focused on identifying or ruling out malignant causes. Here, we extend our previous observations by highlighting a more complex diagnostic clinical scenario of histologically confirmed FNH.
