OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to examine the relationship between postpartum women's perceptions of traumatic birth and their infant feeding intentions and breastfeeding attitudes. METHOD: tests, one-way analyses of variance, Pearson correlations, and structural equation modeling were used to analyze the data. RESULTS: < .01). These findings suggest that postpartum women's perception of traumatic birth is associated with their breastfeeding attitudes. CONCLUSIONS: The findings indicate that higher levels of perceived traumatic birth are associated with more negative breastfeeding attitudes among postpartum women. Developing care models aimed at preventing traumatic birth perceptions may contribute to improving breastfeeding attitudes. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2026 APA, all rights reserved).
