New species D. verdensis and D. variradiata are identified in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, highlighting biodiversity.
Two new species in Divarilima A. W. B. Powell, 1958 (Limidae Rafinesque, 1815) were described from material collected during the Dutch CANCAP VI and VII expeditions to the Cape Verde Islands: D. verdensis spec. nov. and D. variradiata spec. nov.. These new species are the first congeners known in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. They can be easily differentiated from existing taxa by their stronger radial sculpture. All type material is kept in the systematic collection at NCB Naturalis, Leiden, The Netherlands.
