Explores local density fluctuations' impact on stability of charged neutron stars, highlighting vulnerabilities.
This study explores how local density fluctuations influence the stability of charged neutron stars in the extended symmetric teleparallel gravity. We construct the field equations and derive the corresponding hydrostatic equilibrium. By adopting a linear model, we formulate the explicit field equations and employ the matching conditions to evaluate the unknown constants within the metric. A detailed formalism is developed to detect cracking and overturning points by perturbing the equilibrium state, based on variations in the net force per unit density. Cracking instability is identified when this quantity transitions from negative to positive, signaling a shift from inward to outward force dominance. Conversely, overturning instability occurs when the change is from positive to negative. The findings offer meaningful perspective on the internal behavior of the charged neutron stars, highlighting zone vulnerable to density perturbations. The results affirm the effectiveness of the local density perturbation as a reliable stability criterion in the f(Q, L m ) gravity.
