Sequentially synthesizing bis(triazole)s through efficient modular assembly highlights new methods in chemistry.
An efficient modular assembly method using bis(2azidoacrylamide)s as tetravalent platforms is described. A broad range of bis(triazole)s are easily synthesized by triazole formation and subsequent Michael addition. Sequential conjugation enables the facile construction of bis(triazole)s from readily available modules. Furthermore, following mono(triazole) formation, selective Michael addition of the resulting 2-triazolyl acrylamide moiety proceeds smoothly leaving the 2-azidoacrylamide moiety intact.
