Case report shows significant relief from tension-type headache and allergic rhinitis using Natrum carbonicum, suggesting effective treatment possibilities.
The treatment of complex condition like tension type headache (TTH) is often within the reach with homoeopathic remedies. We present a case that adds to the knowledge of Materia Medica of Natrum carb through its use in case of TTH. The patient presented with TTH, Allergic rhinitis and repeated abortions. Considering the availability of complete symptom, the case was solved using Boenninghausen approach. The mental characteristics were used for differentiation, especially the patient’s sentimentality and the quality of her relationships. Natrum carb 1M in infrequent doses brought about significant relief in TTH and chronic allergic rhinitis; moreover within 4 months of initiating the treatment, the patient conceived; she delivered a healthy full term baby. The case demonstrates the impact of carefully chosen similimum utilising the process of analysing, evaluation, repertorisation and differentiation. The case also helps to understand the finer shades of sentimentality of Natrum carb which is not very clearly available in Materia Medica.
