Scoping review maps evidence on mobility assessment technologies for older adults, suggesting design improvements for assistive devices.
Motion monitoring technologies have expanded the possibilities for the objective assessment of mobility in older adults during the use of assistive technologies, enabling the investigation of interactions among users, devices, and the context of use. This protocol registers a scoping review aimed at mapping the scientific evidence on the application of these technologies for assessing older adults who use assistive devices and discussing their potential contributions to improving the design, ergonomics, and personalization of these solutions. The prior registration aims to promote methodological transparency and reproducibility in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines.
