Novel framework proposes an autonomous SRE Co-Pilot to manage cloud infrastructure anomalies, improving stability.
As cloud computing scales in complexity, the deviation between a system's desired architectural state and its actual operational state becomes a primary vector for instability and resource exhaustion. Traditional Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) addresses this state drift through static scripting and reactive alerting mechanisms. This methodology is increasingly inadequate for modern distributed environments due to its lack of contextual awareness and high false-positive rates. This paper proposes a novel framework for an autonomous, locally hosted SRE Co-Pilot. By integrating offline large language models with native infrastructure APIs, systems can dynamically audit, reason about, and remediate infrastructure anomalies autonomously. We detail the implementation mechanics of utilizing Python-based automation alongside edge-deployed models to manage hidden liabilities, specifically focusing on unattached storage volumes and dormant compute instances. We argue that reliable automated orchestration requires strict deterministic API boundaries and transparent execution logging to ensure operational safety without compromising data privacy.
