Review highlights endovascular renal artery interventions, detailing techniques and outcomes for renal vascular diseases.
Endovascular renal artery interventions play a vital role in the management of a wide spectrum of renal vascular and parenchymal diseases. These minimally invasive procedures may obviate the need for surgery, thereby reducing treatment-related morbidity and facilitating organ preservation. To review the indications, procedural techniques, and potential complications of contemporary endovascular renal artery interventions. Commonly performed renal artery interventions include transarterial embolization, renal artery angioplasty and stenting, and other emerging endovascular therapies. This review discusses their role in the management of renal artery stenosis, traumatic and iatrogenic vascular injuries, renal tumors, and other renal vascular pathologies. Endovascular renal artery interventions are safe and effective treatment options for a variety of renal vascular disorders. Ongoing technological advancements continue to expand their clinical applications while improving procedural outcomes and reducing morbidity.
