Investigates the synthesis of sulfur-containing compounds in ethanol, suggesting efficient methods for organic chemistry.
Previously unknown 4-[(alkylsulfanyl)methyl]-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazoles were obtained by the reaction of accessible 3-[(alkylsulfanyl)methyl]pentane-2,4-diones with hydrazine hydrate and phenylhydrazine in ethanol under microwave irradiation. The use of microwave heating makes it possible to obtain sulfur-containing 1H-pyrazoles in 10–30 min in yields up to 97%.
