Demonstrates new N-sulfonylation technique for sulfoximines, suggesting synthetic versatility.
Sulfamides and sulfoximines are valuable structural motifs in pharmaceutical and agrochemical research owing to their distinct physicochemical properties and biological significance. Herein, we report a mild, metal‐free, and additive‐free protocol for the N ‐sulfonylation of sulfoximines using Burgess reagent, for the first time, to afford unsymmetric (sulfoxylidene)sulfamides in good to excellent yields. Additionally, we report an operationally simple one‐pot, four‐component protocol that integrates chlorosulfonyl isocyanate (CSI), an alcohol, triethylamine, and a sulfoximine, which provides a significant alternative to the existing strategy. Replacing alcohols with amines or sulfoximines provides access to novel (sulfoxylidene)sulfamide–urea and (sulfoxylidene)sulfamide–(sulfoxylidene)urea hybrids, demonstrating the synthetic versatility of this methodology.
