Review explores radical-mediated nitrogen migration, highlighting methods and future research directions.
Radical functional group migration reactions represent a powerful synthetic toolkit. Among these, nitrogen migrations, the strategic repositioning of nitrogen‐centered groups along a molecular backbone, provide efficient access to diverse nitrogen‐containing architectures with broad relevance to pharmaceuticals and materials science. Although promising, these nitrogen migration processes present significant challenges, and the field has remained underexplored. Nevertheless, recent advances in radical chemistry have renewed attention in this field. The present review provides a comprehensive summary of the latest progress in radical‐mediated nitrogen migration, while also discussing existing limitations and outlining promising directions for future research.
