Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is a life threatening event and leads to lifelong consequences if the patient survives the event. In view of global hypokinesia and reduced ventricular ejection fractions, subsequent management requires pharmacotherapy and cardiac rehabilitation to improve outcomes. Cardiac rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary program involving exercise training, risk factor reduction, education and psychological support, besides standard pharmacotherapy. We present here a case of 46 year old male having AMI, survived with severe debility due to low ventricular ejection fraction. Ayurveda intervention besides conventional cardiac rehabilitation was added here for any possibility to improvise the results. Such an add-on and its impact in cardiac outcomes have not been reported in the literature so far. The case was diagnosed as of Antero-septal MI (ASMI). Conventional interventions were done at a tertiary care hospital and upon stabilization patient was discharge with recommendations. After 3 months of initial event, in view of slow recovery, patient asked for Ayurveda interventions as add-on to the conventional care. Conventional Cardiac rehabilitation with add on Ayurveda intervention for 8 months resulted in good recovery of the patient with an improved ventricular ejection fraction up to 50%. His debility was also much reduced and he was able to do his routine chorus with ease. No adversities were reported following the conventional cardiac post infarction care along with Ayurveda interventions.
