Based on the survey data, graduates (n = 151) of counselor education doctoral programs not employed in full-time faculty positions were most often employed as clinical counselors; their highest-rated motives for pursuing the degree involved improved professional opportunities and clinical skills; and most were satisfied with their training. Those who applied for full-time faculty positions had somewhat similar qualifications to assistant professors in the study by Hatchett (2024).
