In order to check whether organic compounds can be nucleophilically silylated with Me 3 SiAl compounds such as (1) and (2) , the latter were allowed to react with an aldehyde, a ketone, and an acid. Complexing agents like diethyl ether and AlCl 3 have considerable influence on the reactions. Summary: Reagents (1) and (2) can be used for the directed nucleophilic silylation of carbonyl compounds; α‐hydroxytrimethylsilyl derivatives are formed. An advantage is the absence of undesirable by‐products. equation image
