We conducted a 2-year study of Anolis nebulosus Weigman with the aim of understanding the effects of seasonality and predation on the behaviour of this tropical, mainland anole. The study was carried out in a deciduous forest at the Estacion de Biologia Chamela on the Pacific coast of Mexico. This area has a severe 6-7 month dry season and the largest seasonal fluctuations in arthropod numbers and biomass yet recorded for a tropical habitat. As is characteristic of mainland anoles, the A. nebulosus population in the Chamela forest experiences high predation rates and low annual survivorship
