Theoretical paper proposes wandering black holes induce star formation in the interstellar medium, suggesting new astrophysical implications.
Traditional cosmological models categorize stellar and intermediate-mass wandering black holes either as strict matter sinksor passive by-products of gravitational collapse. This theoretical paper proposes a complementary paradigm focusing on thedynamics of wandering black holes traversing the Interstellar Medium (ISM). It is hypothesized that these compact objectscan act as active kinetic agents of stellar induction. Upon penetrating quiescent molecular clouds, we propose that the BondiHoyle-Lyttleton accretion wake and bow shocks associated with supersonic transits generate local density gradients capableof overcoming the Jeans Mass. We develop an order-of-magnitude analytical formulation to evaluate the physical viabilityof this mechanism, exploring thermodynamic inertia, free-fall timescales, and expected observational predictions, such aslinear proto-stellar chains. Finally, we delineate the limitations of the analytical model and suggest strategies for validation viamagneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) simulations.
