Reveals enhanced photocatalytic CO2 reduction in a composite material, suggesting improved efficiency.
In order to enhance the light absorption capacity and promote the interlayer electron transport of CoAl‐layered double hydroxides (CoAl‐LDHs), a composite material of Zinc tetrakis (4‐carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (ZnTCPP) intercalated into CoAl‐LDHs interlayer was prepared by the exfoliation and re‐stacking method. The optimized composite exhibited excellent performance toward photocatalytic CO 2 reduction to CO, with an average CO evolution rate of 57.2 μmol·g −1 ·h −1 , which was 5.84 times and 2.87 times higher than those of pristine CoAl‐LDHs (9.8 μmol·g −1 ·h −1 ) and ZnTCPP (19.9 μmol·g −1 ·h −1 ), respectively. It is found that the intercalated ZnTCPP in CoAl‐LDHs could greatly improve the light absorption capacity and promote the interlayer electron transport, resulting in high photocatalytic CO 2 reduction performance.
