Investigating propagation and refraction analogies of Pearcey pulses under varying dispersions.
The propagation of the Pearcey pulse with a linear chirp is investigated in detail. We find that the chirp parameter has an impact on the focusing property of the Pearcey pulse. We further explain this phenomenon by the evolution of the phase distribution. In addition, we also discuss the propagation of Pearcey pulse with a linear chirp under the action of second-order dispersion and third-order dispersion, and an interesting phenomenon analogy to the refraction can be observed.
