Demonstrates the impact of phase and quantization errors on secrecy outage probability in RIS selection, suggesting crucial performance insights.
This paper investigates the secrecy outage probability (SoP) of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) selection with phase error (PE) and quantization error (QE). The proposed scheme using channel state information (CSI) selects the RIS with the maximum instantaneous signal to noise ratio (SNR) at the authorized receiver. This work derives the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the proposed selection scheme for the end-to-end instantaneous SNR. This paper analyzes the impact of the PE and the QE on the SoP of the proposed RIS selection by deriving the lower-bound and asymptotic expressions of SoP. Using asymptotic SoP expression, we quantify the secrecy diversity order (SO) of the SoP for the proposed RIS selection.
