Linewidths of the 5419-A{} line are measured in a conventional shock tube. The Stark effect is the dominant broadening mechanism. Electron densities vary through the range 2.8×{}10¹⁶--2.2×{}10¹⁷ cm^-3, and temperatures vary from 8300 to 16 000 K. The Stark parameter increases by a factor of 2 as the temperature decreases. Results are compared with previous experimental data and semiempirical calculations.
