Cubic β-In2S3 nanorods were synthesized with reaction conditions that favor anisotropic growth. The TEM image illustrates the uniform diameter of the nanorods (11.5 nm), which is well below the Bohr radius of In2S3. Optoelectronic and electrochemical characterization suggests these nanorods may represent a viable alternative to CdS and CdSe nanostructures.
