In Brief This is the second of 2 articles that discuss the biology and pathophysiology of wound healing, reviewing the role that growth factors play in this process and describing the current methods for growth factor delivery into the wound bed. In part 2 of this article series, the authors review the current state of knowledge regarding the utility and mechanisms of action for growth factor-dependent wound healing therapeutic approaches and discuss methods that can be used for delivery of growth factors into the chronic and acute wound bed.
