root was established and regional differences in baicalein content were evaluated. Baicalein was quantitatively estimated using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). One variable at a time (OVAT) and response surface methodology (RSM) were used to achieve the objective. The developed extraction method recommends reflux extraction using 87.50 mL/g of 100% ethanol for 45 min at 90 °C (×1 cycle). And might be useful for future extractions. The study also revealed that samples from Itanagar contained higher levels of flavonoids, baicalein and exhibited strong antioxidant activity.
